About the Event
“The teachings on the Four Noble Truths clearly distinguish two sets of causes and effects: those causes which produce suffering and those which produce happiness. By showing us how to distinguish these in our own lives, the teachings aim at nothing less than to enable us to fulfill our deepest aspiration – to be happy and to overcome suffering.” — H.H. The Dalai Lama
The Four Noble Truths – the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering, and the truth of the path leading to cessation – was the first teaching the Buddha gave after he was enlightened.
No matter how many times one hears or reads about the Four Noble Truths, there is always so much more to learn. These Truths form the heart and soul of Buddhism.
This course – designed for both beginners and advanced practitioners – provides the rare opportunity to study with the internationally renowned Geshe Pema Dorjee. His fluent English, keen intellect, warm-hearted nature, and infectious sense of humor combined with his clear and practical explanations create inspiring and meaningful discussions.
Although taking the whole course is recommended, any portion may be taken separately.
This in-depth teaching will encompass Renunciation, Emptiness, Nirvana, Enlightenment, and the Four Seals of Buddhadharma.
