Join us in the heart of the snowy Catskills for our first-ever President’s Day weekend ski and spa retreat! In addition to two trips to nearby Belleayre and Windham Mountains for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing fun, we will also do yoga, meditate, take time for massages and other spa treatments in our new Mahasukha Spa, and benefit from enlightening Buddhist teachings by Robert Thurman on the Jewel Tree of Tibet. Guests who want to join this retreat but who do not wish to participate in the ski/snowboarding trips will have alternative options (please see schedule below).
Tibetans call their cherished tradition of Buddhism a “wish-fulfilling jewel tree” for its power to generate bliss and enlightenment within all who absorb its teachings. This path to enlightenment, it is taught, requires more than a sitting meditation practice alone.
Happiness, in fact, is the true goal of Tibetan spirituality, and the wish-fulfilling jewel tree will put you on the road to that reachable goal. This beautiful jewel-tree imagery, which acts as a mandala or a yoga pose to focus your attention on truths larger than yourself, will help you break through worn-out ideas and habits, strengthen positive abilities, develop more energy and creativity, and change your life -- and future -- for the better. In this unique weekend getaway, Thurman brings these insights to you as they were meant to be transmitted, through the spoken word.

Open to all levels! Beginners can opt for ski or snowboard lessons.
Please note: You may register for the entire event or for just Friday through Sunday. Tuition and accommodations rates do not include the cost of lift tickets and equipment rental. Spa treatments are also optional and are not included.
Information on Trips to the Mountains and Rental Costs
We will be offering a Saturday trip to Belleayre Mountain from 9:15am to 3:30pm (30 minutes each way travel time). Belleayre offers both skiing and snowboarding fun. Group rates (15 people or more) are $33 lift ticket + $25 equipment rental + $13 helmet. If we have enough people to qualify for the group rates, a free lesson is offered. If we don't get 15 people, rates are $57 lift ticket + $25 equipment rental + $13 helmet.
Reservations are due 24 hours in advance, so if you answer that you do not plan to go on this trip below and you change your mind later, you will need to let us know at least one day in advance. If possible, Menla will make a group reservation as soon as we reach 15 people (and we can add more up to the day before), otherwise everyone will need to make their own reservations (845-254-5600 ext 2474/2444/2428). Apparently they have a limited number of snowboards, so reserving snowboards as far in advance is recommended.

We will also be offering a Sunday "night" trip to Windham Mountain from 3:15 - 8:45pm (45 minutes each way travel time). Windham offers skiing, snowboarding, AND tubing! Group rates (20 people or more) for night skiing/snowboarding are $30 lift ticket + $30 equipment rental (includes helmet). One free lift ticket is offered, which we would split evenly as a small discount across the boards. Non-group rates for night skiing/snowboarding are $37 lift ticket + $30 equipment rental (includes helmet). Windham's main office number is 518-734-4300, however online reservations save you $2. Reservations are due 48 hours in advance. Group rates for tubing are $17.80 per five people, otherwise it's $20 per person for 2 hours and $25 for 4 hours.
