AN INVITATION TO INNER LIFE: FINDING AND CULTIVATING YOUR OWN DEVOTIONAL PRACTICE
The goal of this two-part workshop is to explore various avenues into inner life.
Participants will have the opportunity to try a variety of prayer practices across religious traditions, engage their dream life, and discuss links between the psyche and the soul.

Presenters:
Lizzie Berne DeGear is a certified hospital chaplain who has worked in a variety of settings with people of many faiths and backgrounds? she is also head of the Biblical Studies program at the Church of St. FrancisXavier. Her doctoral studies
combine psychoanalytic theory and Hebrew Scripture.
Pilar Jennings is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst in private practice and a long-term practitioner of Tibetan and Vipassana Buddhism. She is the author o f Mixing Minds: The Power of Relationship in Psychoanalysis and Buddhism ,
and a researcher at Columbia University's Center for Study of Science and Religion.
Pilar and Lizzie’s collaboration began as colleagues in the Ph.D. program in Psychiatry and Religion at Union Theological Seminary, working with writer, scholar and Jungian analyst Ann Ulanov.
