About the Event

On a practical level the Buddhist Path to the lofty goals of Liberation and Enlightenment involves three types of interrelated activities which in combination enhance one’s experience of life: 1) study (of Buddhism, oneself, others, and the world) to acquire information; (2) meditation on that information to develop knowledge or understanding, and then (3) deploying that knowledge in our actions (ethics). These basic steps repeat and arrange themselves in many patterns as part of the ongoing dance of life. In essence this Buddhist path is a refinement of what we all already do: observing, feeling, discussing, and learning before reflecting on and assessing what we’ve learned so that we can apply the best and clearest of all that to the choices we are making every day and over time– all in hope that better choices lead to a better life, perhaps even an ultimately better life… This series will examine these three “educations,” and their interrelationships and components, which make up the formal and practical Buddhist path. This is the first time father and son will be leading a series-don’t miss it!
