Rageshree Music Institute proudly presents An Evening Of Indian Classical Music presents K. V. MAHABALA  on sitar & Polash Gomes on tabla.

Presenters: 

K.V. Mahabala had an aptitude for music since childhood. After experimenting with singing and mandolin playing, he found his true love for classical North Indian music in the Sitar. K.V. Mahabala has studied under numerous prominent musicians and teachers and is currently studying under the guidance of Pandit Barun Kumar Pal a renowned Hansa Veena player (senior disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar), Pandit Shantanu Bhattacharya a renowned Vocalist, & Pandit Samir Chatterjee, a renowned Tabla player.

K. V. Mahabala has been residing in New York for the past 20 years teaching and has performed at various prestigious places like; Carnegie Hall, All Night Concerts hosted by Chhandhayyan, Indian Consulate, New York, Ekal Vidhyalaya, Tampa, Florida, & Live on Woodrow Wilson Plaza, Ronald Reagan Building, Washington D.C., and more… He also regularly visits and teaches in Tampa, Florida. 

Polash Gomes born in a Bengali Roman Catholic family in Kolkata, India. He is an accomplished tabla player in New York area. He follows the line of the distinguished Lucknow baj, he is a disciple of Dr. Mrinal Pal of Lucknow Gharana. He has also studied tabla under Pandit Swapan Chaudhri. He has performed for the United Nations, Brooklyn Museum, Ruben Museum, Asia Society-NY, Columbia University, Bucknell University, Brooklyn County College, and more. He is the founder of Rageshree Music institute, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of Indian Music in the West.
