About the Event
We will study and contemplate the advice to kings given by the great Indian saint and
philosopher, Nagarjuna, in his Jewel Rosary. The first session is on how the king should
transform his own mind to find inner peace and discerning wisdom; the second session
is on how he should conduct his kingdom, which will reveal the principles of the
Buddhist ethic of compassionate activism (in consideration of theMay 13-15Newark
Peace Education Summit with H.H. Dalai Lama); and third session will concern the
apocalyptic vision revealed in the Kalachakra Tantra, the meaning of the advent of
Shambhala (in anticipation of HH. Dalai Lama’s offering of the Kalachakra Grand
Initiation and Blessing inWashington DC, July 6-16).
