About the Event
Christ taught in his Sermon on the Mount that we should love our enemies, not only our friends. The Buddha taught in the Dhammapada that only love can conquer hatred-more hatred will never do the trick. While there are many interpretations of Christ and Buddha's teachings, their core messages continue to manifest in ways most appropriate for every age.
Today we have the vision of a cosmic, universal Buddha incarnating in the form of teachers such as the Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hanh; and a resurgent mystical Christ expressed through such phenomena as the Course in Miracles, manifestations of popular faith in such places as Lourdes and Fatima, and the work of many wise and loving religious teachers, both Christian and non-Christian-throughout the world.
Marianne Williamson and Robert Thurman will meditate together and dialogue about the wisdom and love the Christ and Buddha still bestow upon us all, whatever our faith or outlook.
