About the Event
All spiritual traditions agree that you cannot live fully unless you face death squarely. The Tibetan tradition refined to a high degree the sophisticated sciences and arts of the dying and living processes, providing us with useful tools for dealing with death and for living more consciously.
We will draw in our exploration primarily from the Tibetan Book of the Dead, other Tantric & yogic sources, Sogyal Rinpoche’s Book of Living and Dying & other recent works.
Recommended readings: Long Discourses of the Buddha (the section on Wisdom, especially the “Fruits of the Ascetic Life Sutra”), M. Walshe (trans.); The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti & The Tibetan Book of the Dead by R. Thurman (trans.); and Sogyal Rinpoche’s Book of Living and Dying.
Wednesdays, April 7, 14, 20 & 28, 7 - 9 PM.
